Lady Barristers Room is a nod to the past, when the legal profession was still unsure what to do with the increasing number of women entering practice. We had our own lounges, but they were ghettos and, like the LBR in the Portage la Prairie courthouse (for example), many have reverted to the broom closets they always were.

Today, women make up a majority of law students. Yet the proportion of women in private practice drops off sharply a few years out of school.

Staying in the game means making the game your own.

Ladies, gentlemen, queers, scrappers, peacemakers, jesters, and serious seekers welcome here. There is a law blog for you. More to come...
